KING ILLEST SAYS HE WAS DISAPPOINTED IN B FLOW FOR LAUGHING WHEN BA SAGA CALLED HIM A “DUMB RAPPER”
KING ILLEST says he lost some respect and was disappointed in B FLOW for laughing when BA SAGA called him a “dumb” rapper on his show Zed Flowback.
Speaking to Chimweka on Diamond TV’s ON THE TABLE, the rapper said when he contacted B Flow in order to get BA SAGA’s number, the ZAM president’s phone went unanswered for two days, and when he finally did answer, he did not share the number.
Despite B Flow not giving him the number after requesting it on more than two occasions, the rapper said they are cool and cordial now, as they met, shook hands at Chiko Wise’s funeral, and made plans for a football match in Mazabuka.
However, he revealed that BA SAGA reached out through a voice note explaining that it was a “hip-hop” thing and didn’t mean it in the way it came out.
“To see a person who I thought was an icon talk down on my name like that, I was like, Oh! Let me get his perspective,” he added on his reaction to BA SAGA’s remarks.
King Illest further said that people talk about him because he’s “shining,” and the legendary rapper/singer speaking about him meant he feels something about him; regardless of what that feeling is, it means he’s king.
Therefore, it didn’t offend him, but the remarks got people close to him offended, as it wasn’t just disrespect for him but the movement he started that has inspired kids in Southern Province to rap in Tonga.
Unprovoked, BA SAGA said King Illest needed to improve his rapping style and maybe rap in English because rapping in Tonga wasn’t making him reach his potential audience despite having the right hip-hop persona, further comparing him to Sarkodie and calling him a dumb for not capitalizing on that.
“Him saying I’m a dumb rapper, I’m not a dumb rapper, I know that for sure,” said King Illest after saying he still got positives from his remarks as he praised him for having the right persona.
The rapper and B Flow ironed out their issues, but not with BA SAGA, as he said he didn’t respond to the voice not because he’s not the one with a lot of things to explain.
